Kallie is a beautiful chocolate and white mixed breed that has recently found herself back in our care. Kallie was adopted out at the beginning of last year, but was unfortunately returned due to an illness with her family. Kallie is understandably sad and confused being back in the shelter environment that she left as an eight week old puppy. She's now close to a year and a half and just over forty pounds. We don't believe that Kallie received much socialization during puppyhood as she lacks confidence and is timid with many situations. Walking outside on a leash is outside of her comfort zone and vehicles passing by frighten her. She is looking for a home that will show her patience while she settles in and navigates how to be a dog in yet a new environment. Kallie bonds quickly with the people that spend time with her and show her love. She'll often pull towards those people when she's feeling stressed in a situation and show her affectionate side. Kallie doesn't have much experience with other dogs, but has done very well with every dog she's encountered here at the shelter. We believe having another dog in the home to show her the ropes will give her confidence and companionship. Kallie would do best in a mature household free of children.
