Meet Walker! Walker just celebrate his first birthday in foster care. He's been with us since December of last year after coming from a home that he shared with close to forty other dogs. As a puppy growing up in an environment where human contact was almost nonexistent, Walker is understandably under socialized. He spent a majority, if not that entire time in the confinements of the home with no outside time. When first coming to us, Walker felt most secure inside in his crate. Outside on a leash was a new and terrifying experience. He has been in foster care the past several months to learn what it's like to be in a home environment where he's properly cared for. He's made great strides and views the outside world as a little less scary. He does fantastic with the other larger dogs in the home and often looks to them for guidance. Going forward, Walker is looking for a quiet yet mature household where he can continue socialization. He really needs to have other dogs his size or larger in the home to help with his confidence. He would not be an ideal fit for a home with children as he shuts down around them. If you're looking for a dog to put a little patience and TLC into, Walker would greatly benefit from you.
